Here is what you are doing this month:
- We were at Target one time and we were looking at the Mickey Mouse stuffed animals. You kept saying a word that sounded like pray or play but I couldn't figure it out. When I finally said "pay" you said "yes!". Haha. Apparently you wanted to me to pay for the Mickey Mouse toy. Haha. Well played. You say that all the time now when you are looking at something at the store. (If it were only that easy just to pay for whatever we wanted)
- You can catch a ball when tossed to you and you are getting really good at it. You also can throw a ball really well too. You have quite an arm on you. We are working on trying to teach you to toss something (like underhanded) but you prefer to throw it as hard as you can.
- You like to count things but everything is 1, 2, 3. It's so cute.
- You love to run up to people and tickle them and say "tickle, tickle". Then you just laugh and laugh. This is one of the first things that you do to us when we come and get you in the morning or from your nap in the crib.
- You love to play peek a boo but one time I was being silly and went through all the vowels like peek a bay, peek a bee, peek a bye etc. and you thought that was so hilarious. So now you want to play that game over and over saying it with the vowel sounds. hehe.
- You still love to dance and sing. You absolutely love your dance class and look forward to it every week. You ask every day if we are going to dance class.
- You love to practice your ballet or tap moves that you learned in class. We put on our shoes and do the movements at home. You love it.
- You love to have shoulder rides from mommy and daddy. You love to go "higher" and think its so fun. If you are wearing a dress, you think it is especially funny to stick your dress on top of our heads while we walk around the house.
- When singing, you will now sing parts of songs. You will also hold something up to your mouth for a microphone and close your eyes, scrunch your face, and nod your head up and down like you are really rocking out to the song. It is the most precious and cutest thing ever.
- You love the song To be with you by Mr. Big. I started singing it one day and you have been hooked ever since then. You really like to rock out to this song.
- When we lay blankets on the floor to sit on, they can't have any wrinkles in them or you point to them and say "Oh no. Fix it."
- Your Minnie Mouse doll had some string come loose on the hand and Nana fixed it for you while she was visiting here. You got up from your nap, grabbed Minnie and proclaimed "Mickey fixed her!!" No matter how many times I tell you Nana fixed it you will say "no, Mickey!". Haha.
- You have 4 teeth coming in this month (3 molars and 1 tooth next to your 2 bottom teeth). Yes it is as bad as it sounds. We have had some rough days but lots of snuggles seem to help it. This puts your total of teeth to 10.
- You want to share your milk with your stuffed animals and let them have a turn first before you have some.
- You will also point to your milk and say "pink" and then laugh and say " not pink" and then you will go through all the colors saying "not ___ either". It is so funny and we laugh every time you do it.
- You have been adamant lately about having cold water in your cup. If its not ice cold, you don't want to have anything to do with it.
- You will do this fake cry and sad face when Daddy leaves for work. It works like a charm because you will get extra hugs and kisses from him before he goes. Sometimes you will even sit on him or grab his leg to keep him from going.
- You've been banging your hands on your chest to be a gorilla for a couple of months but now you will bang your hands on our chests and make us do a gorilla sound too.
- You are starting to put 3 word phrases together now. I am amazed with how much you pick up everyday. You are a little parrot these days. One of my favorites is telling Lucye to get out of the kitchen. You will say "Lucye out of a kitchen"...I must say that one a lot.
- You love playing with cars and trains right now and are obsessed with talking about fire trucks, tractors, and ambulances.
- You are obsessed with the Little Blue Truck book. You want us to read it all the time. You will even "read" parts of it yourself. My favorite line you say is " help help help" "I stuck I stuck".
- You love to be wrapped up in a towel really tight like a cocoon after bath time. You like to do it because Ladybug Girl does it in one of her books. You think it is so fun and try to walk while wrapped up in the towel.
- You can do a forward somersault without going sideways all by yourself. I'm pretty impressed.
- I painted your toenails for the first time this month and you LOVED it. You kept saying "polish, sparkly" and wanted to show everyone your pretty nails. You didn't want to put shoes on that covered it up for a few days.
- You will now ask someone if they are ok with some prompting after someone gets hurt. I love it and I hope that we can cultivate that compassionate side of you.
- You like to say "be right back" and then you will run around the corner where I can't see you and then wait a few seconds and then come back around the corner with a big grin. It is adorable.
- You pee peed in the potty on July 13!! Now we aren't potty training yet but when you ask to sit on the potty I will put you on there. You asked that day and within a few minutes of putting you on the potty you went!!
- You don't wear your sleep sack anymore to bed. You just decided one night you didn't want to wear it and that was the end of that.
- Some of your friends call you "fire baby". I think they just recognize that passionate spirit that you have within you.
- You are still taking one nap that lasts for about 1 hour and half. You go to bed at 7:30ish and wake up at 6. You still wake up in the middle of the night about 1-3 times on average and need us to rock you back to sleep.
- You are wearing a size 6 shoe but I think one little growth spurt will get you out of those quickly.
-You are wearing 24 month size clothing.
Oh what a joy you are E. We thank God every day for the blessing and miracle that you are!
